I have been developing my own app and wanted to post about it to gauge interest. And hopefully get some ideas from the community.
The concept: Similar to how companion works but mostly built around Dlive. The app monitors a huge variety of trigger inputs. Many from Dlive but also have Shure wireless, Dante, Companion, and Qlab working.
These triggers can then be put thru a logic (if desired). Think… if all or any of these values are true then continue. This includes live Dlive values as well as the other devices I mentioned. Along with timecode (MTC/LTC) and time of day/week variables. Many of those variables have above, below and range values.
Once triggered and passes variables you can assign actions. Just one or many if desired.
Many of the control points are not included in the MIDI documentation but was able to reverse engineer many of them. Metering was the big break thru! The app can use metering data as triggers and variables.
I am curious about the communities interest in this kind of app. And would love to know what control related applications people have yet been able to solve that this app might be able to do.
Control Examples:
- When Shure battery threshold goes below 20%, alternate input color between green/red. Stop flash when PFL is selected.
- When metering level is above -60db on TB input flash lights on surface
- When BGM level travels below -70db mute channel
Have at it
