M-waves with MacBook pro retina problems

Hi!

I have an M-waves card in my iDR-16. When I connect this to my MacBook pro and try to use the computer for live recording or as an effect rack with the soundgrid driver, there are very obvoius sample dropouts every few seconds with even intervals, which results in very annoying “clicks”. I’ve tried with different cables, different M-waves cards, different computers (and yes - all drivers are up to date) and I’ve narrowed it down so that I actually know what the problem is. I have a MacBook pro retina that has no ordinary ethernet port, but uses a thunderbolt to gigabit ethernet adapter (which is supposed to work flawlessly). When tried with an older MacBook pro with an ordinary ethernet port it works just fine. So obviously this is where the problem is.

So - has anyone else encountered this problem? Any suggestions? Guess I have to take it up with Apple, but I wanted to check if anyone here has the the same problem (or if maybe Allen&Heath are aware of it). I’ve also emailed Waves to see what they have to say.

Quit iTunes!

Hmm… Interesting article, but it has nothing whatsoever to do with my problem though. Maybe read what the problem is before referring to soloutions to other problems?

hey Joel, contact waves support as they should be able to help you out… (it’s their job…)

This may be old news, but have you made sure your wi-fi is off? That can sometimes cause issues. And what app are you using to record?

T112/48, MacBook Pro, D-link DIR-815, iPad 1 w/mixpad, Dante card feeding a Mac Mini w/DVS.

Did you get an answer to this?
