I read that (correct) working of the A&H software on a Mac running Sequoia is not yet confirmed. (running Sequoia) unlucky me; just bought a new Mac mini running Sequoia. MixPad and the Midi Control won’t connect with the SQ… Was this to be expected, or am I the only one ?
Unlucky me; when I first start using the (wonderful) SQ I had lots of problems because at that time my computer and operating system was to old. Now I find myself on the other side of the spectrum…
Found this article. It is probably ‘Apple’. Just Will wait for a fix ?:
“macOS 15 Sequoia Firewall and Network Connectivity Issues
There are some known issues with the built-in firewall on macOS 15 Sequoia:
macOS Firewall Regressions in Sequoia
Apple’s latest macOS release is breaking security software, network connections
macOS Sequoia network issues
Recent security changes in macOS Sequoia may cause connectivity issues. Common symptoms include:
Connection dropping unexpectedly after some time.
Corruption in the received remote display rendering.
While Apple works on a fix, here are a few workarounds:
Turn off the firewall in System Settings > Network > Firewall.
Disable “Limit IP address tracking” in System Settings > Network > Wi-Fi/Ethernet > Details…. This workaround should allow you to keep the Firewall enabled.
We are closely monitoring the situation and will update this article as new information becomes available.”
Unless your system control network also connects to the outside world, you don’t need the firewall.
So, no internet (or outside influences) on any computers in my recording chain. Auto updates? Off? Firewalls? Off. Facebook? Off. (haha)
The Dante network that I run for recording is a real closed network. But then again, I am running 2012 MBPs OSX Catalina. I gotta say, it works just perfectly.
D.
Hi, hi…I envy you. Up to now I used a 2009 (!) old iMac running High Sierra. Everything still works: MIDI, BomeBox, A&H Apps, Mixingstation, Dante…… So I thought it was high time for a faster computer. And the MacMini delivers lots of computing power, for surprisingly modest money, but…… Nothing works. I try to be in contact with all involved, but Apple Support simply states the other company’s involved should upgrade their apps….
Hope things will work out
YES !, the latest update for Sequoia (15.2) solved the Connexxion problems.
Ai ,ai, so sorry……
Cried ‘victory’ too soon.
The next day , starting up the MacMini running Sequoia 15.2 all the connection failures where back.
If the BomeBox and the MacMini won’t connect, then MixPad and Mixingstation also don’t connect with the SQ. But sometimes ( I can’t pinpoint the conditions) everything connects, and works like a charm.
My old iMac running High Sierra (in the same network, through the same switchers, at the same time) connects fine with the BomeBox, and also MixPad and Mixingstation (running on the iMac) connect and work with the SQ.
Now I don’t know what further action I can take. It still could be me and my system (but I worked hard to bring back that chance to very slim), it still could be MacOS Sequoia , it still could be the Bome/A&H/Mixingstation software.
All tips/help is very (still) very appreciated. ?
Did the problems with Sequoia got resolved by now? I have not updated until now because I need SQ MixPad and MIDI Control.
Finally the system looks stable. Dante Controller, Dante Virtual Soundcard, SQ MixPad, Mixingstation and the BomeBox all connect and interconnect . I wouldn’t be sure about the Midi Control App when using TCP/IP. But I connect the SQ5 via the BomeBox and in the MIDI Control app I use the MIDI Ports option. So here the MacMini running Sequoia finally works as it should.
