ME-1 and Wireless IEM

Trying to put some information together for Wireless IEMs for our pastor. Looking at the ME-1s They are more for being hardwired? I’m assuming they are able to handle Wireless IEMs just not sure What We need. We are running a qu-24 with ar2412 so avioms are out of the question since the board won’t handle it. If we wanted to run enough for 6 people what all would I need? Me-u? or just get a cheaper PoE switch? ME-1s, assuming I need 6 if everyone want’s their own feed. Then if we are doing wireless I’m assuming we would need to get 6 of these or something like them Amazon.com: Sennheiser EW 300 IEM G3-A-US in ear monitor EW system : Musical Instruments

OR could we just forget the ME-1s and switch and just get the Wireless IEMs

benefits or drawbacks of either setup.

any help with this would be great. I personally don’t have any experience with IEMs just trying to figure out what we would need to get setup.

thanks for your help

Hi Creator, you would just need to connect the local stereo output of ME-1 to the inputs of your IEM transmitter.
This way the user can have ME-1 flexibility and wireless freedom in their monitoring. This solution is used by Philip Selway on tour: https://www.allen-heath.com/radioheads-philip-selway-uses-allen-heaths-ilive-coachella-set/

“On this leg of the tour we are using an iLive-T112 surface, an iDR-48 and a ME-U with five ME-1 personal mixers. They are all using in-ear monitoring, which is fed from their individual ME-1s."

You can either power each ME-1 with the DC PSU, and daisy-chain the units over CAT5 (there is no limit to the number of units that can be chained), you could use ME-U hub or a thrid-party PoE switch.

There are some recommendations for the type of switch in this knowledge base article: https://allen-heath.helpserve.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/702/175/me-1-compatibility-with-a-third-party-switch

As long as you are using good quality shielded audio and CAT5 cables, running a stereo analogue cable alongside your CAT5 to each ME-1 unit will be perfectly fine.

Hope this helps!
