After a period of non-use, (but continuous connection) one of our home run Ethernet cables goes silent. The local mic on the ME-1 is still operative, but to reactivate the signals coming down the Ethercon cable, I must unplug, then reattach the Ethercon cable.
I can’t say how long the signals remain present on the Ethercon line, but it appears to be 2-3 hours before the signals go silent. As I mentioned earlier, the local mic is unaffected.
This may be a ME-U issue, as the “outage” has happened with more than one ME-1 box attached to the same Ethercon cable that is directly connected to an output of the ME-U.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Not exactly the same scenario as your situation, but we have a similar issue with our ME-U. In our case however, the “non-connection” issue is present right from when we power the system on. It’s at a church, so normally the ME system is powered down during the week. Very rarely when we power the system on, one or two of the ME-1 units will power on normally, but not actually get data from the ME-U. Like you discovered, we found that simply unplugging the network cable and replugging it into the device will make it begin working again.
This seems to be completely random. It rarely happens and when it does it is not on the same ME unit every time or ME-U port.
