Hello. I have some weird problem. I use Win11 Dell laptop to record/play virtual soundcheck through DVS with Harrison LiveTrax- which works fine, except for MIDI Control over IP. It just disappeared from MIDI devices. It happened after some major update of Windows/Dell, it included updating UEFI - automatically over Windows Update - first time I’ve ever seen something like that. Connection to Mixrack is ok, application works, MIDI appears to be working on MIDI Control window, And in LiveTrax I can only see Microsoft Wavetable in MIDI devices. Anyone had similar problem?
Same problem here but no solution
I found where problem lies. It is because of the new midi implementation in Windows. Solution is quite simple and quite annoying
you have to open settings, services, find windows midi service, disable it, enable it and then you can start Live Trax.
Problem occurs because this new midi service only register midi devices that are already present when service starts. Sometimes it works on delayed start, sometimes not and service restart is necessary anyway
Hope it helps
I found the solution. Go to
Starmenu → type in “Tools” → go to “Windows Tools” → search for “Windows MIDI” and then end the process and start it again.
The MIDI device should reappear then. It’s a bug in the new MIDI 2.0 Win process, that is already fixed in Beta releases afaik.
