I won’t pretend I actually understand MIDI, but I am at least smart enough to have figured out how to configure Reaper to send/receive Play/Stop messages and Patch Changes to/from a Helix LT guitar processor. Works great.

What I’d like to do now is include Scene Change messages from Reaper to the CQ-18T when I press Play. I’m connected to the CQ via USB-B and I can’t get MIDI to work. Will MIDI via USB work if I’m using the USB-B connection to send audio from the laptop or would I have to use TCP/IP in that case?

Hi Shawn,

Yes, you can use MIDI over USB at the same time as streaming Audio over USB-B.
Audio does take priority, so although unlikely, if there’s loads of data then Audio always comes first.
