How do you know how much “Gain” is needed when there is no physical indication of the “amount of reduction” being applied?

Thank you Brian for the heads up: truth told, when I ordered my SQ5, 5 years ago, I included the 5 comp pkg to have the LA2A & 1176 plugins that I had used for many years. During the 5 years I owned and used the SQ5 I never deployed the internal Compression so I was not at all familiar with the A&H stock compression protocol. Over the past 18 months I have set my CQ with my well established values for compressing and never worried about actual reduction levels for my solo show. But I have agreed to provide audio for SR and Streaming in a very small church (85 seats in the pews) and while running my check list of written instructions for their existing SR crew to manage a new CQ20b this question came up.
