Missing Metering sometimes

About once out of 5 or 6 shows, I don’t have any metering when I start the system up. I don’t know if the meters are missing simply from turning on the Mixrack, or if the problem arises when we load a show file because I generally load a show file as soon as the system is turned on to ensure I have a known starting point (other people use the system during the week). I suspect the problem occurs when I load a show file because loading a show file seems to take much longer than I feel is appropriate (2-3 minutes usually).

We don’t have a Surface, but the “missing” meters affects all devices. The Director software running on a computer at FOH, my tablet running Mixing Station, even the IP6 and IP8 devices that the musicians use to mix their IEM monitors are ALL missing metering.

A reboot of the Mixrack always brings back the meters on all devices. But it is annoying to have to reboot the system when this happens.

Has anyone else experienced this?

On what fw version that is?

Great question! I’m currently running 2.12, but it has occurred for a while now and on older firmware versions too. We got the DLive shortly after 2.0 was released, so no show file is older than v2.0.

That’s an interesting observation Brian, as we are preparing to go live with our new system next week, I’ll have to keep an eye out for this.

I’ve updated our setup to 2.12(out of box the surface was 1.96 and the rack was 2.0) and have built our show file based on 2.11 and then updated.

I’ve had that problem on older firmware versions, but I haven’t had it recently. Restarting mix rack has resolved the problem for me in the past.

Send logs to support.

I don’t remember ever seeing that on either of our two systems.

We leave the Mix Racks on 24/7 but power down the surfaces. We usually load a show file first thing upon powering up the surface.

Those data points would lend some weight to the idea that the issue is related to powering on the Mix Rack rather than loading a show file.

The oldest firmware version I have on file is v1.87 so that is about where our first system was when we got it. We have moved through most (but not all) updates and are now on v2.11.
