Mix button channel select

We use our Avantis in a church with 4 or 5 audio ops.

One thing that keeps happening in practice, is they keep pressing the “mix” button on input channels to try to select that channel.

The button lights up, but of course doesn’t do anything.

If it’s not going to select the channel, it should not light up the button. That should only happen if you are trying to select an output.

Or just make it function as a select button.

Hi Korcraft,

If you press the Mix key on an input, the all the bus master faders should move and become the bus sends from that input. (Much like how normally when you press the Mix key on the Bus, the input faders change to be the input sends to that bus).

Unless you have no sends on faders enabled?

Jack

he didn’tunderstand the beauty of the Mix Button

So let me see if I understand.

If I have a reverb send that a vocal channel is sending to. And I press the mix button on the vocal channel…The reverb send fader becomes the send from the vocal channel to that reverb send? Is that correct?

Thanks

yes, it works the same on iLive, GLD, dLive and now Avantis
I was trying to find a video explaining this, with no luck

but there are new tutorial videos online
and the videos about the dLive series are worth a view

That is actually quite beautiful.

I knew something had to be going on that I didn’t understand, cause I couldn’t get why I could hit the mix button on the inputs for no reason haha.

Thanks guys!

I have only used A&H analog consoles…all my digital work has been with Soundcraft and Calrec so I don’t know anything from SQ or iLive etc.
