I know iLive is EOL but better late than never:
Mixing Station now supports iLive allowing you to remote control it from iOS, Android, Windows/Mac/Linux.

Unfortunately it appears no better than the Mixpad app. No functions for slave/secondary rack installations.
Great update. I use it with our idr48. It was sitting for 2 years because the surface was dead and there was no point investing in a used one. But know its a compact kit to go with many features and still a very decent sounding console. Btw i use the same basic layout i built for the QU pac, so the learning curve is close to none.
That’s fantastic, thank you for sharing this.
Can I load show files ?
Best

Hi, I downloaded the app and had a quick look.
Do i understand correctly that you must pay for a license (android or ios) and then you can have multiple devices running off the single license?
As I understand the allen and heath mix pad app is limited to ipads with no android version. This being android capable is one advantage I can see.
Have you used the mix pad app and are there any thoughts on the two interfaces/functions? Thanks
The licenses are for 4 devices, see Licenses - Mixing Station Docs
Mixing Station has more features than the iLive MixPad app (FX, routing, …)
You are correct in your thinking. Getting full functionality out of the app requires purchasing a license, but that license will allow you to run the app on multiple devices (of the same OS). I believe the limit is 4 devices before you will need to purchase a second license.
That being said, you should be able to try out Mixing Station without a license to make sure it will meet your needs. I believe the biggest thing is that without a license it will automatically disconnect from the console after 10 minutes. That prevents people from using it “during a show” without paying for a license, but allows people to adequately “test” the program before purchasing it. (You can “reconnect” immediately to the console if/when it disconnects due to a lack of a license)
As far has how Mixing Station compares to the OEM iLive software, I haven’t used iLive to know for sure. But with every other console I’ve used Mixing Station on (including Avantis and DLive in the A&H family), I have ALWAYS preferred Mixing Station over the OEM alternative.
Now there may be some features that simply aren’t available on Mixing Station (but David is generally very responsive to feature requests), but I think you’ll find that Mixing Station actually offers MORE control/features than the iLive iPad app does.
EDIT - David beat me by about 5 seconds. His post literally appeared as I was about to press the submit button!
Awesome thank you so much for the quick reply. I recognise your name for the app store. I can’t wait to try. Will be sure to share my thoughts.
Thanks again!
All makes sense thanks very much! The more responses the beter I have already downloaded so will aim to try by tomorrow when I can get to the desk. Looks really promising.
Thanks again!
David - I just wanted to take an opportunity to say thank you (again) for making MS and for adding support for the iLive console. I just picked up an iDR16 and threw in a M-Dante card giving me a more powerful console at a cheaper price than any of the other Dante enabled consoles available on the used market. Having this caliber of console at my house to practice mixing on is going to be really nice.
The point of my story is that I would have never considered getting the iLive if it wasn’t for Mixing Station supporting it. Thank you.
You’re welcome, happy to hear that!
There is still a lot of stuff missing (FX presets, more routing, …) but it’s getting there.
