Mixpad 1.6.0 not seeing SQ5

Hello,
I’ve upgraded my SQ5 to firmware 1.6.1, and I’ve installed Mixpad 1.6.0, and I’m using the same router that I’ve been using with the 1.5 firmware and 1.5 Mixpad without issues.
In the mixpad app the SQ5 doesn’t appear and the lnk activity led stays on, and does not blink.
I’ve done a hard reset and it hasn’t made any changes.
Any suggestions on why it doesn’t work?
many thanks in advance.

The firmware upgrade hasn’t trashed your network configuration has it?

Dave

I don’t think so, the dhcp seems to work fine, as adresses are quickly set on the mixer. So i’m guessing communication between mixer and router is ok. The lnk activity led being permanently on might mean something but I don’t find this information anywhere as of now.

Hi there -
Apologies if you’re the same person I’ve replied to in a support ticket - but you may need to check that Local Network Access is enabled on your device.
Are you using Mac/iOS?
For Mac:

  • Open System Settings: Click the Apple menu and select System Settings.
  • Go to Privacy & Security: In the sidebar, click on Privacy & Security.
  • Locate Local Network: Scroll down until you find the Local Network section.
  • Toggle Permissions: For each application listed, you can toggle the switch to either allow or deny access to your local network.

For iOS:

  • Open Settings: On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
  • Go to Privacy & Security: Scroll down and tap on “Privacy & Security”.
  • Select Local Network: Tap on “Local Network”.
  • Manage App Permissions: You will see a list of apps that have requested access to the local network. Toggle the switch next to each app to allow or deny access.

Hope this helps - if you have any more issues, please don’t hesitate to open a support ticket here: https://support.allen-heath.com/hc/en-gb

Hello. I’ve upgraded my SQ5 to firmware 1.6.1, and I’ve installed Mixpad 1.6.0,.V In the mixpad app the SQ5 doesn’t appear. No blinking on the LAN port of home router, neither on the console… Have checked all I can, thus learning few things, but not able to make it all work…

I am going to ask the obvious question, but you have checked your audio desk network settings and the A&H response above?

Dave

Yes, local network is enabled on Mac. I toggle DHCP & back to it, apply and sq acquieres an adress which sq4u cannot connect. Same when I switch to static ip… I would like to know, before going on, if sq should blink, or the router when an ethernet cable is plugged in… ?

I have set a fixed ip but it does not appear in my home-internet-router’s list of connected devices.

I will pop down to our Church after lunch and have a look at the LEDs on our SQ fir you.

Dave

OK,

I can’t see any LEDs on the SQ’s RJ45 connector illuminating, but I do observe active LEDs on my ethernet switch port connected to the SQ.

There is an LED marked “Lnk” between the ethernet RJ45 and SLink connectors of the SQ desk that is flashing.

When I connect our SQMixPad to our SQ desk, both my ethernet switch LED and SQ Lnk LEDs flash faster.

We have our desk setup with a static IP, the correct sub-mask and gateway, DHCP switched OFF and a unit name configured.

I don’t think the LEDs work on the SQ’s ethernet port.

Hope this is of some use to you.

Dave

Tried all suggestions above….I still cannot see SQ5 as option on Mixpad. It used to work before the update.
