Mixpad Scene Store Feature

There is no way to store your scene on the Ipad app after making adjustments. Our Avantis is upstairs, not by choice. I have to keep running up and down the stairs to store scenes.

I’m not trying to take away from your feature request. It is a legitimate request that should be considered by A&H.

That being said, the Mixpad app is not designed to be the primary software interface with the Avantis. Therefore it does not include every possible setting/feature that is available on the console. It is designed to be a quick “walk around” device with limited functionality. With the Avantis, if you want to use the software that A&H has designed to be the fully featured solution, then you need to use the Avantis Director software. The Director software is fully functional and includes the ability to save/recall scenes, change the recall filters, etc as if you were standing at the console.

The short coming is that the Avantis Director is not available on iOS or Android. If you are going to be limited to using devices with one of these OS versions, then I suggest that you purchase a license for the third party app Mixing Station and use it for this functionality. It is a lot more fully featured than the Mixpad app is and I know you can store and recall scenes on the Avantis with the software (although you can’t adjust recall filters, etc).

You don’t have to replace the Mixpad app in your workflow (although I would suggest that you do exactly that). You could use your tablet with Mixpad and have your phone available with Mixing Station just to save/recall scenes if that works better for your situation.

One workaround I’ve used to address this need is to set up a soft key to store the current scene and set scene options to have Scene Overwrite Confirmation turned off. Of course, you need to set up the pad to have that soft key available somewhere.

Use with care and make sure you’re really in the scene you want to update. This setup doesn’t offer the chance to ‘think twice’ before saving, and absent an “Undo” feature you can do some damage. Hope this works for you!
