MixPad Settings when using Avantis

Currently it seems that the custom layer setups on MixPad are not mixer account nor show-dependent, so I assume they’re stored on the iPad. So if I’m working on different shows which need the custom layers set up differently, one setting persists regardless of the show I’m doing at the time. Not very useful jumping from show to show. Is the solution have multiple iPads? :flushed: If I’ve missed something and this CAN be done, please enlighten me. If not, I’ll add it as a feature request.

As I toss this problem around I’m thinking that Mixing Station is the answer here. Thoughts?

This post echoes a post from wolfgang in October of 2022 but I’m hoping things have been updated since then.

The custom layers on all versions of MixPad have always been independent of the actual mixer and saved on the remote device only, that way each remote user can have their own particular custom layer. I for one would be most upset if I could not have a different set of custom layers when controlling the live stream, to that the FOH engineer has.

As highflyer noted, the current design is on purpose and honestly it is the best way to handle it. Now it would be nice if A&H had some memory slots that you could program and recall custom layers with, but I do not believe that is currently an option.

I say that because I use Mixing Station for all of my “mobile device” needs. It is so much more flexible than the Mixpad app. I think that just about everyone that gives Mixing Station a legitimate shot ends up loving it. I highly suggest that you try it out. There are SO many more features/settings available on Mixing Station that will never be available on the Mixpad app.

If you are on an ipad you can run Mixstation and A&H app at the same time. I do this because I set A&H app as a defult with importent fader on my custom layers so if a am deep into the Mixstation app I can double click the home button on the ipad and get to importent faders fast.
