More layer buttons on 1500?

Just wondering if there’s a way to get more layer buttons on either of the 1500 models? I’m thinking about selling both of my SQ’s and getting into dLive, but 6 fader banks is just barely making it for me.

There’s lots of ways to get around on the 1500. using DCA spills, or you could recall different layouts via soft keys, essentially giving you the 6 layers on each layout, for as many layouts as you can fit on soft keys.

I think the easiest way to do it on V2 firmware is to use the layout librairies and recall it via a soft key using “action” it give you 6 extra layers at a push of a button.

DCA spilling could help as well. You can use a user button for the spilled DCA. And you can lock that DCA to 0dB to have a “POP” group.

Wow, thank you all for the excellent suggestions! I was already doing a single DCA spill for my various main outputs, but I never even thought about using more of them for other groupings. I actually just mixed on a C3500 last week and wondered what uses the DCA lock function could be used for, so thank you so much for the pop group idea!

Another great thing is that when you have in a DCA more channels than the amount of faders, the DCA spill will populate all the fader banks. This way when you use a user defined softbutton for DCA spill you not only get 1 more fader bank, you actually get 6 more fader banks that will auto populate with all the channels in the DCA.
I have a DCA with channels 1 to 66 and another with channels 67 to 128, those DCA channels are not on the surface but used only trough Softbutton DCA spill, not showing the DCA fader, so with those two buttons I can reach any of the 128 channels of the desk in original order without sacrificing any Fader Bank button.

Wow. I was not aware that that the DCA spilled down to other layers. (We have a “surfaceless” setup, so I really don’t use the DCA spill functionality). That is very powerful and using a DCA spill to access channels 1-64 and 65-128 seems like a great use of this feature.

Great suggestions here! :ok_hand:

A long press of any layer button could provide a secondary layer.

You just blew my mind :exploding_head: Absolutely setting this up this week.

It’s a bit ‘off-topic’ here at dLive, but I was pretty surprised that it even works that way also with SQ.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
