More uses for Right hand screen on surfaces with two screens

I would like to be able to pull up a second selection on the right hand screen so I can keep an eye on two things at once. For instance, viewing a vocal compressor on the left hand screen while viewing a vocal group bus compressor on the right hand screen.

Also to view a second “bank view” as this would allow to have a birds eye view of more of the channels parameters/gates/ compressors at once. This would give the larger Dlives more of an Avantis feel. What I love about Avantis, being able to see so much at once. Also tapping to get to exactly where you want to get to easily. Something similar could be done to upgrade the Dlive platform. I mostly use an S7000 so there would need to be some ability to choose which bank is being displayed.

So agree!! I have an Avantis and thought about upgrading to a DLive until I worked on one and that right screen is frozen. The DLive is like the old main frame IBM and the Avantis is like when Windows came out in my humble opinion. I miss UFX …. Hint Hint A&H and a few more bells and whistles, but Avantis is Way more modern and appealing.

You can just have meters on that screen if you want. You can have those in the south area as well if you want.

Personally I usually park the right hand screen on the routing page. At least during the initial setup/mix phase. 90% of what I send from channels is done on the routing page.

An avantis style surface for the Dlive platform would be awesome, or an ability for an avantis to “drive” a dLive rack would be awesome. But for now, considering we already dropped money on the S7000, having the bank view on the 2nd screen would get us close to avantis style overview.

Yeah, I usually would prefer that the right screen stay locked on processing and the left screen be the flexible one, but then the EQ, filter, and preamp knobs would be in the wrong place. Or maybe I wish the screens were scooted over to the right? I don’t know, it’s just that the current setup tries to “center” you on the left screen and reaching the right screen is fine but reaching the softkeys can be a bit of a stretch if you’re at a seated (as opposed to standing) mix position.
