MP3 playback

I would be nice to play break music via mp3.
You can fit a lot more songs on a thumb drive or stick versus .wav files.

Mp3 is patented and need ressource for decoding.
It is pretty sure that you will never be see it available.
But you can use the STin for break music.

There are No Patents since 2017.

You got the point for the patent.
But I believe it must be more complex than everybody think and certainly more resource demanding to add multi format media player in the CQ series.
It is not a PC.

I think that WE do Not know the internals of cq/SQ to assume anything.

Well, I am not only guessing.
Read this similar topic for the SQ and you might understand better.

Sorry, but your are still guessing. There is absolutly no information about the CPU performance, so you have no base to guess anything about mp3-decompression capabilities.

And yes: I understood what Keith said: No operation system does not mean no possibility to decompress mp3. If you like to know more about the CQ software, you could have a look at the Firmware image file.

Best Regards,
Tobias
