Multiband Compression, Deep Fx, EatraRackFx

Hi everybody! Been doing some research on the SQ Rack and had some basic questions. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.

  1. If I understand correctly, the SQ rack does not currently come stock with a multiband compressor.

  2. If I want a multiband compressor in the SQ Rack, I can buy one from Allen and Heath for $80. This will come with a 3 band and 4 band compressor.

  3. Once I buy the multiband compressor for the SQ Rack, it will take up 1 rack slot in the effects rack. There is no dual mono mode for the multiband compressor, so if input channels 1 and 2 are for two different vocalists and I want to insert each channel with its own multiband compressor, it will take 2 effects slots.

  4. The “Deep Effects” are the effects available that I can insert on an input channel and not take up an effects rack slot.

  5. The “ExtraRackFx” are effects that need to be inserted into the effects rack.

Thanks so much!

Yes, the add-on multiband comp uses an effects slot, but there are 8.

Thanks Dave54!

Allow me to also address all the other points you have already researched.

  1. You are correct - it is an “add-on”.

I see a price of $89.00 (USD excl. VAT).

Yes, you get these two models - though I would hope that the “4” doesn’t operate differently when using 3 bands.

  1. You are correct - a dual-mono mode is currently not available.

  2. You are correct - and without added latency.

  3. You are correct - however, the exact term is “RackExtra FX”.

Thanks so much for answering all my questions, SQuser! Thanks too for correcting me on the price of the multiband compressor and pointing out that was before VAT is added in. Also thanks for correcting me that it is called RackExtrraFX. Take care!
