Not in front of my consoles right now, but, in a multidesk setup can one be used as graph eq control on faders the other as a regular console?

Yes, but the channel selection would not be linked across the two. So if the Surfaces were set to operate on the same range of channels, you could leave one in GEQ fader flip mode, but you would need to select the mix channel locally on that Surface (suggest via SoftKeys).
