Multiple MIDI slaves in addition to CQ

Hi all - This isn’t a CQ-specific question, but I figure someone here’s gotta have experience with this. So I’ll ask:

I’m using an iPad running an app called Stage Traxx 3 to send MIDI info to my CQ18T over a standard USB-C to USB-B cable, connected to the USB-B port on the CQ. (Also sending inter-app MIDI to another app in the iPad, which communicates over a wifi network to my lighting rig). This seems to work fine.

I’d like to also integrate some additional MIDI commands to control external HW in addition to the CQ. Specifically, changing presets and sounds on a guitar processor. What’s the best way to do this? Some kind of USB-MIDI hub? Are there wireless options?

I should mention that I’m also passing audio data through the physical usb connection, so I think that would have to remain in place, at least through some sort of hub…

I am doing the same. The first thing you need is a USB Hub between the iPad and the mixer. This way, you get more usb connections. Some gear might support midi over usb (just like the CQ) so they can also be connected directly to the USB hub. If you have gear that require physical MIDI, I suggest you get a usb to midi interface and connect that via the usb hub. Good luck!

Thanks @Vedeja - any suggestions? What do you use? I suppose a powered, half-rack, 4-port hub would be ideal, if such a thing exists…

Mine sits on the pedal board, below the iPad and just to the side of CQ20B. So it’s actually not a road worthy piece if gear - a Ugreen Revdok
