Native Support for RTP-MIDI Protocol

Hi everyone,

I would like to suggest adding native support for the RTP-MIDI protocol in future updates.

The situation I’m facing is as follows: I have a playback rig that I want to use to send MIDI commands to both the FOH and MON consoles. As far as I understand, A&H’s current MIDI over TCP/IP solution does not allow for this kind of configuration as easily as RTP-MIDI would, since MIDI Control can only connect to one console at a time.

Native support for RTP-MIDI would provide broader compatibility and a simpler way to control multiple devices simultaneously. I believe this feature could benefit many A&H users.

I’d love to hear if others would find this useful or if A&H has any plans to implement such a feature.

Thank you!

The current situation with having to hook up a computer just to handle midi for the console is a bit cumbersome.

As a workaround, if you are primarily triggering Scenes, you can send MIDI PGM to one console and use Embedded Recall to recall a target Scene in the other console.

Not that you want to add any hardware, but I believe the Bome Box allows you to connect to 10 different dLive/Avantis systems at the same time and allows you to route MIDI messages using the Bome network. The Bome network software runs on Mac, Windows, iOS and Android and tt allows you to route anywhere.

It also supports mapping 5 pin DIN and USB midi onto the network.
