No USB disk present- QU-16 no longer recognising ANY USB drive / SSD

My Samsung T7 SSD lights up, the QU-Drive LED lights up but I can’t access it.
This has worked for MANY years with this exact set up my Samsung T7 SSD.

What I’ve tried:
Different lead - Does nothing
Different SSD - Does nothing
Formatting SDD 1st on a computer - Does nothing
Switch cleaner - Does nothing

Things to note:

  • Once I pull the USB lead out the QU-Drive LED stays on.
  • At a gig the other day where I noticed it wasn’t working one of the channels had switched to read / playback from the drive (I didn’t do this myself and as I’ve never done this before so I didn’t even know how to sort the issue - Luckily I’d saved the scene beforehand and so just recalled it and this playback channel issue went away)
  • I’ve not updated any firmware recently.

Any thoughts here anyone please?

Mike C is going to say:”have you tried a hard reset ?”. Unfortunately that’s also all I’ve got ?

It’s always worth a try!!!

Maybe try a new USB sick/drive, right from the package to the mixer and format it.
So far the Kingston Data Traveler series has been and still is my go to for USB sticks
that work with the QU.

If that works do a firmware update.

Do you know anyone else who has a QU series mixer where you could test your USB drives and or reformat a USB drive in theirs and then try it in yours.
