One Touch 'Virtual Soundcheck' switching option missing

I switched form my Soundcraft UI24R to the Allen Heath CQ18T.Reason is a built in Monitor and at least some physical knobs, more compactness, …

However, there is one function in Soundcraft UI24R which we used not only for virtual soundcheck but heavily in band rehearsal doing multitrack recordings. The Soundcraft has a simple ‘Acitivate Check’ button in multitrack menu, that switches all inputs from Analog-Input to the SdCard-Input at once. In Allen Heath CQ18T you have to always select all channels and switch to card Mode and back. If you playback your multitrackrecordings lots of time during rehearsals, this is pain. You can use scene changes, but don’t think that scene definitions is right way, as you always store your faders and other settigns when changed too.

Use-Case :

  • Virtual Soundcheck

  • Multitrack recording during band rehearsals

Feature request:

  1. Provide a menu configuration option for ‘VirtSndCheckGrp’ like you provide different ‘MuteGrp’

  2. Provide a softbutton in Multitrack menu to switch to the ‘VirtualSoundCheckGrp’ that has been defined. When the button is selected, all configured inputs (incl. Stereo-In,…) are switched to the SdCard-Inputs.

  3. When the button is deselected, selected inputs are switched back to the Analog-Inputs

  4. Provide an assignment to a physical button to the ‘SoftButton’ for virtualsoundcheck, that does the same as b) & c)

  5. You might provide an option when switching back to the current state or switching back to all inputs.

Can you build a scene that switches over? That’s what I did on my SQ.

Of course you can build a scene, but that’s not what you want - switching back you get the old fader settings (after you did your soundcheck ??). You only want to switch between the sources(Card<->Port), that’s the simple feature what the SC UI24R amazingly does

Actually, this would be pretty great and a game changer in my situation. Now I’m kind of annoyed it doesn’t have it!

This gets my vote! I play in a band that in most cases don’t have a sound engineer. This would bee a game changer for us, so much easier to do a soundcheck.
