patching 1 input to multiple ch

Hi All
I have a sq5 using all Channels
but was thinking it would be great to be able to eq the vocal in the monitor without effecting the foh or main eq on aux bus
cheers

You can route every input socket to any channel in the I/O Matrix

eg local input 1 to every input channel

In the picture just posted the top row is the channel where the mic cable
is plugged in (input socket as they call it) and the left hand column is the
channel/fader on the mixer.
Just arrange the grid to patch as needed.

You can also set that up in the pre amp menu on a channel by channel basis, however the
IO routing matrix gives you a better visual as to how everything is routed.

Double assigning will do what you want it to.

When you say your using all channels do you mean all 48?

He, no im just using all 16
got you now…
tanks…

bonus ?

can I decide if channel should be pre or post eq when sending to aux bus

.

cheers

You can process 48 though, so should have plenty spare to do alternative eq for mins.

With only using 16 of the channels you could double patch all of your inputs and more or less
operate it as two mixers with one person mixing the main mix on the mixer and someone
else mixing monitors using an iPad controlling the channels assigned to monitors.

First of all on the channels that are double patched for monitors make sure you un-assign those from the main LR mix.
As for pre or post, how many monitor mixes are you providing?
They can be set to prefade and still have all the channel processing applied to the mix outs in various combinations.
Any mix or mixes that are set to post fade would be controlled from the main mix surface layer.

You can set pre/post eq per bus but not per channel and bus.

You do this by selecting a mix and then processing and it’s right at the top.

Dave’s post brings up a suggestion/comment I was almost going post in my other post.

This could get confusing for the operators but…if some of your mixes truely need to have
independent channel processing on some inputs you have enough open channels to triple or quaduple assign
some inputs.

You can set pre/post eq per bus but not per channel and bus.

Yeah… thats what i thought too
