We have Avantis with waves & gigaAce cards. We just purchased an Sq5 for stream. What is the best way to patch dry (pre) from Avantis GigaAce to Sq5 s-link??
You’ll want to use tie lines as it is the closest to the preamp that you can get, which is what the goal is with a digital split.
Question,
Is the gigAce card necessary to split for Avantis at FOH and at broadcast sq6 with an AR2412 and an AB168? If not, how would I configure or patch everything? If so, how would I patch it with the gigAce card?
Have a look…

Thank you, Im doing research for a church who is looking to update FOH console and move SQ6 to broadcast
In the first place, I would suggest a second SQ and two SQ-Dante cards for the connection of the consoles. You can make backup recordings without a console and can add Dante devices as you need. It is possible to add laptops with DVS and Dante AVIO for I/O or amps with Dante input.
The price point of the Avantis is significantly higher than the one for the SQ.
But if you need to combine Avantis with SQ, I would recommend going the Dante way too.
Given you already have a Waves card for the Avantis, I would suggest getting a Waves card for the SQ. You can then use the Waves protocol to route audio between the two consoles.
You can also record multitrack audio, and obviously use plugins - all over the Waves network.

I answered to Ian.
No, but they will definitely need at least one additional card.
But if they would already have the Avantis, SQ-6, and both stage boxes, don’t plan on adding Dante components to their system any time soon, and the budget is rather limited, purchasing an SLink card for the SQ-6 might also be worth considering.
It’s significantly cheaper than a GigaAce- or two Dante-cards and you also don’t need to configure Dante.
However, it could might be unusual in this configuration, the SQ would take over gain control of the stage box preamps, but depending on your workflow and prioritization, might not necessarily be a disadvantage.
However, if they are considering a Dante network anyway, the previous recommendation is obviously more future-oriented.
