I am annoyingly and unexpectedly having to use analog inputs and outputs between a QU24 and a computer. Setup is a church where we record services on a PC using OBS, but we sometimes have audio streaming from the PC as well. We had been using the USB-B input to stream audio to the desk and that was fine, until the USB side of things seemingly didn’t like being PAT tested, or coincidentally died at the same time…
So, we are reduced to using analog ins and outs - Group 9/10 for output to the computer, and ST2 input for streaming. When sorting this earlier today (actually using the 3.5mm input for ST3), I noticed that whilst the PC streaming was working absolutely fine, I could hear other inputs throught PAFL on ST3. When I monitored Group 9/10 I couldn’t hear the PC output at all, and only got the other inputs.
ST3 was routed to Group 9/10 so should have been going through. ST3 was feeding quite happily to L/R outputs.
Was there something in the desk blocking a looping back signal? If so is there any way to prevent this looping back? Could I use two different soundcards (one input one output) to fix this? All suggestions very welcome, thank you.
