PC editor program for show and scene files saved from QU5/6/7

Hi all,

New here, but not new to A&H or running sound. I’d like to see a program for PC/Mac that would allow viewing/editing/saving show and scene files saved from the A&H boards. Ideally, there would also be a template that would allow creating a scene file in advance and loading it into the board once you got to the show. You might not create everything you need in advance, but it would be a huge time saver if you had a base configuration instead of everything at factory defaults.

This would also allow viewing a scene file without pulling it up on the board, in case you wanted to find a setting from a different scene than the one you’re running live.

Slightly related, but A&H is quite fussy about the format of a USB stick. It seems that if it wasn’t formatted by the board, it refuses to see it, even if it’s a suitable size and is formatted FAT32. If it’s looking for a specific folder on the USB, there’s no way to put it there other than formatting.

I am a long time user of Presonus and Yamaha and Qu-6 is the very first A&E product I purchased. This week, added a DX168 to the mix because I actually “used up” all the physical inputs. And what I am really really missing is the ability to be able to use my large monitor on the PC for controlling/editing. This is during live show. Offline editing is a huge time saver, not just for “pre-assemble” my scenes but alleviate the need to backup and restore using USB.

So, wishing there is a Windows/Mac version of the Qu MixPad that I run, do my homework, save and transfer to the board.

January of 2026. Still waiting for this.

Waiting! I have installed these boards in 4 smaller to mid-range churches and would benefit greatly from the ability to make/correct a scene at home.

“Slightly fussy about the disk format” yes.
For those with USB drives not working, be aware that it only appears to only understand the old 1998 era FAT32 disk format with a disk cluster size of 32kB.

Formatting on the console (erasing your USB drive) mainly sets up the folder structure it expects and sets the cluster size to 32KB.

It appears to be a very basic USB driver which doesn’t understand other cluster sizes and disk format types such as exFAT, NTFS and others.

I’ve also observed it to be pretty fragile where the disk was working and 1 minute later it’s not. The same disks work fine everywhere else and passes detailed file structure tests and still won’t work on this equipment.

I’ve also seen it record audio ok (sometimes) to USB but it fails when saving a scene or show.

I have good name brand, high speed SD and USB drives (Western Digital, Corsair, Sandisk, Kingston, Micron), but not the exact ones it likes.
