Periodic bursts of white (?) noise on multitrack recordings

Hi all - you may have seen my post last week about recovering unfinished multitracks from a CQ that was powered off without stopping the recording process. I was able to do that thanks to the kind folks here.

Now I have another problem: in these recovered multitracks, there are periodic bursts of what sounds like white noise, maybe around 0dBFS, that interrupt the every few minutes on the multitracks. They sound like they last maybe half a second or less; they do not seem to be regularly periodic, nor do they line up time-wise on the multiple channels. They are on all the multitracks I recorded at this show. (which was only four)

They sound like this: Dropbox

And look like this: Dropbox

I have not heard these before, but this is also the first time I’ve recovered files from a non-finished recording. Could this white noise burst be some kind of artifact of the file completion/recovery process? Or is there something else I need to worry about?

If it’s a one-off from the recovery process, so be it, that’s fine, but I’d like to know if I did something that caused them.

Thanks!

Oh, that’s not nice.
We can certainly assume that you followed the procedure recommended by A&H in each detail.?
However, they wrote that you “typically find .WAV files … that report a length of 512/1K,” and yours were only 0 bytes.
I have no idea if that would make a difference if the recovery worked.
But A&H should know, and so if I were you, I would contact them directly.
