POE to SQ ethernet control port

Looking to ditch my router and use a small switch with a wireless access point. Looking at a switch that has POE to all the ports. WAP requires POE, or an injector (which is just more stuff to carry)
Will sending POE to the control network port on the SQ create any problems?

The IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards requires the end host (in this case, the SQ’s ethernet port) to request PoE from the switch and how much power to supply. Hopefully your switch doesn’t have an option to ALWAYS supply PoE…but supply it only when the host requests it.
