Power Sequencing the Qu-5D, 6D, 7D On and Off

Any problems with that? That is, leaving the power switch always in on position, first shutting down the 5, 6, or 7 unit from the screen, and then powering off from the Furman sequencer?

There is no problem with that. As long as the console was “shut down” using the screen, it makes sure the console is safe to remove from power. It makes little difference if that “removal from power” is from the power switch on the console, simply pulling the plug from the wall, using a power strip/sequencer, etc.

That works fine, I’ve set up many QU’s and SQ’s on a power sequencer system and have a large label stating to put the mixer in shut down be for powering down the system on quite a few of them. How much good the label does over the long term with different operators is anyone’s guess!!!

Funny story with a power sequencer system I put in. Went back to that system to do some work and noticed the sequencer was on but all the power switches that were accessible on the equipment were all turned off, asked about it and was told “they” did not like waiting for the system to turn on!!! In that system it was about a 30ish second sequence at the most.
