QU-16, FX 3 and 4

I’m sure I’m wrong … hope so … but seems FX 3 and FX 4 are really useless on the mixer. I can add external FX using a loop, say Mix-Out >> External Rack Unit >> ST1 Return …

OR … ???

You can use any spare Mix to feed FX 3 and 4. Or a Direct Out if the FX is only used for a channel.
You can also insert them on any input or output channel.

What Mike said. Any of the mixes can be used for FX 3 and 4. I tend to use 5-6, 7-8 or 9-10 as some of the FX are better suited to a stereo mix.

I assume you have a QU16.
To patch any of the FX processors IO routing go to the “back panel” tab on the FX
processor menu there you can select an unused mix to become the FX mix for FX3 and FX4.
