Qu-16 USB Output

I use a Qu-16 for my church’s worship service. We stream the audio out of the USB output of the QU-16 to OBS. I have a problem with the routing of the inputs to the USB output. Input 1-7 , which are all mic inputs are recognized by OBS. The inputs 8-16 are not recognized by OBS and none of the sources plugged into these inputs go out through USB. What settings do I need to make for all the input to match the output of inputs 1-6?

There might be a specific reason why you want to send 16 channels individually to OBS.
Without knowing this reason, I would consider whether you could alternatively do the stream mix directly in the QU-16 and only send that stereo mix to OBS.?

Welcome.

There are two things here to consider:

  1. Are you sure the USB interface between the sound desk and OBS is configured to support that number of USB channels. This may be an issue with the OBS end.
  2. How is the USB output patch configured? This ‘maps’ specific audio desk sources to the individual USB channels. If you don’t know what this is, you can bet your bottom dollar this is the issue!

As above, I am not sure why you are not using a mix on the audio desk to feed OBS. This would be the ‘obvious’ choice to me.

If you are routing input channels directly to the USB channels, this is usually accomplished by channel direct outs. There is usually a global configuration on the audio desk as to ‘where’ this audio point is taken from on the channel strip. This will affect whether channel strip controls (such as EQ or compressor) are passed to OBS or not. Likewise, the tapping point can be affected by the channel mute and/or channel fader.
