QU-32 Direct Outputs: Can they be Pre PreAmp?

Looking at the Channel Direct Output settings of the user guide … Do I have it right that I can set each input channel going to an ME-1 to NOT obey the channel MUTE (Follow Mute OFF) but there is no setting to make them Pre-Preamp? So both PreAmp and Trim will affect the level in the personal monitors for that channel. Correct?

Exactly - pre the preamp, you would typically find an analog microphone signal at the input jack, which is of no use to you in a digital mixer.
That is why the signal is amplified to the correct operating level within the preamp and then converted into a digital signal, which you can then use and route.

Yes - even two trims (see image).

Thanks. Makes perfect sense. Ive been 4 years digital using it post preamp just fine but another user asked and it triggered a memory about it working that way on the previous mixer. But it was analog. So there ya go. The trims will be handy. I can see using them.

However, also with analog mixers, a wide variety of (microphone) signal levels must first be amplified and matched to one another within the preamps, to reach the standard operating level for your mixing and also for the direct outputs.
Consequently, in these mixers as well, the direct out will be positioned post-preamp.
