Qu-32 ST3 receptacle question

Some ham fisted individual seems to have been a little over zealous when plugging a connector into the ST3 input on our Qu-32 and now it is loose and not making a good connection. Never having our case open before can anyone inform me how the ST3 jack is connected internally? Soldered to a PCB or what?

Thanks, Phil

Yes, and since this PCB (AG8892) is relatively small and accessible, someone with experience servicing such devices and perfect soldering skills could attempt to repair this jack (AL5323).

This expert could also search for AG8892 on YouTube to see how to access this PCB. )

I’m once upon a time in a previous life I had been an electronics tech for about 30 years. Unfortunately that was over 20 years ago. I think the Qu will go in for service.

Thanks

And yet, the aforementioned video triggered resignation in you?

I just can’t see well enough these days to effect the repair.

Ah, but it shouldn’t be complicated and therefore shouldn’t be expensive either.

Not expensive I am sure. In the interim we can use ST1 or 2.

I do wish I still had the eyes and hands to make this repair.

But the ability to play music is even more important. :backhand_index_pointing_right: :banjo:

To get to the board you need to remove the bottom cover panel, lots of little screws!

Unfortunately the way board is positioned the solder side faces the inside of the mixer, if it was the other way around and if it was just a cracked solder connection you maybe could have just removed the side end cap and touched up the connection.

Thanks for the input. If my vision and hand steadiness was better these days I am certain I could repair this.
