Qu-6 and Me-1: how to use follow-mute only for some channels?

Hi,

We use a Qu-6 with Me-1s.

Most of our channels sent to the Me1s should not be muted when muted at the FOH, especially the inputs of our musicians.

But some of them (the channels of our speaker microphones) should use follow-mute (so it is muted at the ME-1s when muted at the FOH).

I only can set global direct out settings for all channels, so all are follow-mute or not.

Is there a possibility to decide per channel?

We have an SQ7 (not a QU) and I have just configured our ME-1s to use global direct outs for the bulk of the musicians and vocalist channels so they are in charge of their mix.

However, I did the same for the leader and preacher microphones and (of course) that causes problems for the Worship band!

We group our preacher and leader microphones into a ‘group’ and I have sent this group output to the ME-1. This group output obeys the mutes, and solved all of my problems.

See if this is also applicable on the QU.

EDIT: I have just found the manual for the QU5 and it is the same as our SQ7. The feed to the ME-1 is on the exit of the output patch, so you can patch any direct out, aux, group or matrix to any ME-1 channel.

Check the block diagram for your mixer.
