Qu (Dante version) as external AMM example for Soundcraft Vi2000

Hi,

I’d like to use a Dante-equipped Qu purely as an external automixer for a Soundcraft Vi2000 – the same way I’ve previously used an AHM-32 with it. Is it possible?

Planned signal flow (up to 32 channels):
Vi2000 post-fader insert send → Dante → Qu input channel (AMM on, fader at 0 dB) → Direct Out → Dante → Vi2000 insert return → Vi2000 PGM mix

Questions:

  1. Does the Direct Out (source Post-Delay) include the AMM gain, or is it tapped before it?
  2. If not, is there any other way to get a per-channel post-AMM output from Qu?

The User Guide describes the AMM and Direct Out sources, but doesn’t state their relative position.

You can see the block diagram on the technical datasheet here: https://www.allen-heath.com/content/uploads/2026/10/Qu-5_Qu-5D_TechnicalDatasheet_Iss2.pdf

It will include the AMM gain, as shown in this diagram snipped from the datasheet:

Thanks. That diagram was helpful
