QU + DX = as good as DLIVE?
Any reason why not? In theory as the QU’s now have 96kHz XCVI core, with a DX stage box it should be sonically the same as DLive Avantis and SQ right?
From what I understand, the preamps in the DX (excluding the DX32 “Prime” Cards) and GX stage boxes and the Avantis and DLive consoles all have the same preamps. Therefore the sonic quality should be comparable.
So yes, if you use a DX/GX box with the new QU console, you should get pretty comparable results and the average listener is not going to tell the difference between the two systems however on a pure “sonic quality” basis. Of course not everything is the same however. EQs, compressors, etc might sound a little different and/or have different controls/settings between the two systems as well.
I don’t have experience with DX32 stage boxes, but sonically I think that its just similar.
Some friend toll me a couple years ago that AR2412 has warm preamps better than GX or DX stage boxes.
I appreciate any comments about this discussion in a future before to put my Qu-24 and AR2412 for sale.

I can tell you from experience that the DX boxes sound better than the AR/AB boxes.
Clear audible difference
Agreed. Not sure if the converters are the same in all the DX products but it sounds similar to me.
I don’t believe that the AR/AB boxes preamps are the only difference. It will be the sum of all the parts.
