My Qupac is frozen on boot up soft pads are lit up and flas but screen is off. I have tried the hard reset to no avail. I’ve have read about boot to firmware methods but how/can this be done on the Qupac?
If your Qu-Pac hangs on the boot splash and never reaches the UI, the forced firmware reinstall combination is:
Channel + Sel 10, held while powering on.
Steps:
- Load the firmware
.QUUinto the root of a FAT32-formatted USB drive (no folders). - Insert it into the front USB A (Qu-Drive) port with the unit powered off.
- Hold
Channel+Sel 10and power the unit on. - Perform a hard reset (
Reset+Setupat power-on) after the forced reinstall — A&H specifies this.
Note: the widely-cited USB + HPF In combination is for the Qu-16/24/32 and is physically impossible on a Qu-Pac — neither key exists on that model. This is the Qu-Pac equivalent.
macOS users: rename the firmware file to QUPACU~1.QUU per A&H article 27372432963729, and remove the hidden ._ AppleDouble file macOS creates — it also ends in .QUU and the mixer loads the first version file it finds.
In my case this fully recovered a Qu-Pac that had been stuck on the splash screen indefinitely. Symptom profile before the fix: network stack alive (pingable, TCP 51325/51326 open, MIDI Active Sense over TCP working), USB-B enumerating and streaming 32×32 audio — but digital silence on every channel and no reply to any application-level SysEx. The DSP firmware section was corrupt; the forced reinstall rewrote it.
