QU-pad won’t connect

QU16 1.95 firmware QU-Pad 1.95 both on network correctly App sees the mixer and does the connect sequence but usually fails with a connect error. Factory reset mixer, reloaded QU-pad on iPad. Nothing works. Any ideas? Thanks

Has this iPad ever connected and worked with this mixer?

Is the mixer set for DHCP or static IP addressing?

Are you using a dedicated WIFI router just for the mixer or is the mixer being connected to larger network in the building?

You may need to go into the app settings and and set QU Pad to be able to connect to local networks.

Try using only a 5ghz WIFI connection, if not already.

Get a WIFI scanner app to see what channels are in use, set the WIFI router to a non or least used channel.

iPad connects once in a while. Mixer is static with factory address of 192.168.1.60, 255.255.255.0, router 192.168.1.254. Dedicated wifi device. iPad set to connect to local networks, router is 2.4 Ghz only. I don’t suspect wifi interference as the Qlab app also in use on the iPad works perfectly. On connect request, mixer thinks about it for a while and then fails. I am going to replace the wireless router today to see if there is some issue there. The one in place is an old Linksys WRT, have a Ubiquiti Dream Router that I am going to try, which does have 5 gig service.

Turned out to be the router acting up. Replaced it with another and all working now.

Don’t you just love network issues! Glad you figured it out…..

By chance was there are IP conflict issue between static IP’s and addresses being handed out by the router?

The new router may be configured differently.

Network problems are always fun to troubleshoot. I don’t think the issue had to do with IP assignments, the QU was set to A&H’s defaults and was hardwired, and there was only one other connection, via the wireless, for a Mac Air to run Qlab. No issues with that connection. The iPad QU-PAD app saw the wireless router but connection attempts were usually failures. It would occasionally connect. With the new router in place, connection was immediate and every time. One more bump in the road flattened out.
