Hi all, I know there have been various threads on noise when using USB from a Qu mixer. I tried following troubleshooting steps from other threads to address the weird intermittent electrical/interference noise I was experiencing, but nothing worked until I stumbled on a solution very much by accident.

It seems the dock I was using was creating issues, and when I plugged the USB directly into my Mac Mini, the noise went away. As such, I definitely recommend trying different ports/connections if you’re experiencing this sort of thing.

One thing that occurs to me is a dreaded ground loops forming between the mixer and some computer (or other equipment) connected to the USB port.

Yes, that seems to be a common issue, which is another reason to experiment with different ports if possible.

I currently don’t have noise in my USB on the Qu-5, and I think I’m using a USB hub with my Mac Mini.

I’ll keep your suggestion in mind if I run into trouble.
