QU16 echo problem

Hello!

Unfortunately we have a problem with our mixer.
Since a week we have got an random echo on our input signal.
You can hear an echo when you talk true the microphone while the fader of the channel is not open.

All the FX are all muted.

The following things I have tried or are happening:

  • It’s random, somethings only on channel 1 and 2 sometimes on an other channel
  • It can change from on channel to another while the mixer is on, so not only during reboot.
  • It doesn’t matter if I have an signal patched directly to the mixer or true the digital snake
  • It seems that the FX section isn’t working at all. Normal FX are also not working

Is there something I can try to fix this problem?
A hard reset is the last option I haven’t tried but maybe someone know a solution to this problem.

When this happens you should be able to see the meter(s) from the fx you’re hearing go up.

Has someone played with the iPad app and activated fx 3 and/or 4 by mistake ?

Giga

I will check the meters.
But because it goes random on and off during use it looks like a software error or something in the fx.

I bet it’s not a software error. Most likely it’s user error. As @giga already mentioned, there could be something activated what is normally off.

Check the direct out settings.

That have already all been checked.
And my first thought was also an user error.

But because its random and the Echo sounds switches between channels while i’m working with the unit and not making any changes i don’t think it is a user fault.

I will check your suggestions once more.

While you’re at it, also check if the fx-sends are post fader

Settings where right (post) and fx3 and 4 where also not in use.

I checked also de fx again and they are not active.

After the checks I did an hard reset and
And the Echo is now gone l.

Hopefully it stays thuis way.

Sounds like you may have had an effect feeding back into itself. An effect send turned up on the same effect return. That can also a very big feedback loop, it may have been not quite turned up high enough to cause a full blown feedback loop.
By chance are you live streaming and the same computer you live stream with also has it’s audio output connected to an input on the mixer?
