I have a brand new (to us) QU 16. I was trying to update the firmware and kept getting file not found. The current firmware version is 1.1. The oldest firmware I can find is 1.94. Am I stuck with 1.1? Or is there a way to update to a more current firmware?
Are you following the instructions fully?
Extracting the zip file to the root of the USB drive? Or extracting just the update file from the zip to the root of the USB drive? Can’t recall what way it needs to be but it will say in the update instructions. In case you were leaving the update unzipped, the console won’t be able to do anything with it.
Turns out it was just me interposing a 1 when it’s just a qu6. Haha! Once I got that figured out, we were all good!
OK, it’s really pretty funny that that’s possible. There’s already all kinds of confusion between Qu and Qu. People buy the wrong Mixing Station license. David calls them Qu and Qu(old). I call the new series Qu567. A&H really didn’t think through this naming thing at all, did they?
… and I’ve already written about QU2.0, and at A&H the overarching terms are now “QU,” and the original QU are now “QU Classic.”
At least they weren’t very bright that day when they decided on it.
When I first heard the new names, I immediately wondered how anyone could reuse the same series name for a completely different product.
The problems aren’t just evident online in general, but right here in the forum, where, ironically, all the models are listed mixed up together under “QU.”
So what search term do you use online when looking for the new or the old QU?
Previously, “QU” was enough, but now you have to search for QU-5, QU-6, QU-7, QU-16, QU-24, QU-32 (all often also written without a hyphen), QU-Pack, or QU-SB just to end up at least in the right category (“new” or “old”).
However, if you have an QU-5 and search for that, you may not find any information that would be helpful also for QU-5, if it was published under QU-6 or 7. ![]()
I mean, QToo was right there.
There were just trying to be Qute
