Anyone experience this?
Have Qu24 and Windows 10.
When opening Reaper V5.33x64 I get a message “There was an error opening the audio hardware:Error initializing ASIO driver”.
Verified mixer is on and USB connected on both ends.
Open Device manager and shows QU24 with driver error.
Close Reaper, leave mixer on, and unplug/plug USB cable.
Driver error resolved and mixer found upon opening Reaper.
I have tried start computer, turn on mixer, and start Reaper. Same error which resolves upon unplug/plug USB cable.
Also tried the reverse startup procedure (mixer, computer, reaper) and get the same error which resolves upon unplug/plug of USB cable.
Both methods display driver error for QU24 and have to disconnect/reconnect USB cable to resolve error.
Have upgraded to Reaper V6 , DAW control, and driver without resolution of issue.
Any thought/suggestions?
Reaper is currently in version 5.40. There is no Reaper V6.
What is the firmware on your Qu?
Have you attempted to replace the USB cable?
Did you try turning on both the computer and mixer and then connect them via USB once they are both on?
Have you tried more than one USB port on the computer?
What is your default sound device on your computer?
Yes Reaper is up to version 5.4 ?
I have to say I never have an issue using Reaper with Windows or Mac.
And Quality USB cables’ really do matter!
Sorry for the delay in responding.
You are correct with Reaper version (5.4). Not sure where I got the V6 from!
QU firmware is 1.90
Tried 4 separate USB cable with same result
If connected after startup, it connects fine
Tried multiple USB ports with same result
Default sound device is Speakers with “High Definition Audio Device” as controller.
I guess the answer is to start up both devices, then connect them.
I too am having this issue and I know we aren’t the only two. I have win 10 x64, nothing special.
Running reaper 5.34 x64
The problem of course is not Reaper but the driver and compatibility with windows 10.
