QU24 Mic vs Line level connections

Hello all, newbie here.

I once a month mix at a location that has an QU24. All connections are made via an analog snake which is located close to the stage and where the speaker processors & amplifiers are.

Most nights there is (also) a DJ playing using a Xone92/96 or Pioneer DJM series mixer.

The way the DJ mixer is connected to the QU24 (via the analog snake) is simply 2 channels on XLR coming in from the DJ mixer master outputs.
The 2 channels on the QU24 are connected to the mic XLR input sockets the same way you would do on a SQ5 as the SQ5 doesn’t care about mic vs line levels and there also is a pad switch in the gain stage as I remember correctly.

But the QU24 has separate 1/4 jack line inputs. Are they just for convenience of connecting things and parallel to the mic inputs or do I have to use them for line level signals? (impedance and sensitivity different?)
I can’t seem to find my answer in the manual…

Thanks/Cheers

The TRS 1/4" Jack inputs on the Qu series are for line level signal - they include a fixed pad and prevent phantom power being inadvertently being sent to the outputs of the connected device.

For the setup you describe, it would be best to avoid switching connections around by simply using a DI box (or two) at the stage.

Cheers,
Keith.
