Qu5 Multiband insert preset wet/dry return levels

Some of the Qu5 FX insert presets have peculiar Dry / Wet return levels set.

DynEQ and De-Esser come back Dry -inf and Wet 0, as expected.

The insert presets for Hypabass, Gated Verb, ADT, flanger, all the choruses, Delay, BBD, and the SMR reverbs, come in Dry -4/ Wet -4. So do MB3 and MB4.

So does the blank rack, which really makes no sense. It should either pass straight through or not at all. Instead it reduces the signal by 4 dB.

I can see justification for most of those, because they are liable to be inserted in a channel and you’ll want a blend of wet and dry. I think the multibands should default to -inf / 0. You can still easily choose to run them parallel, but I bet most people are using them all wet.

No, you can’t just run them in parallel without problems, as you yourself posted here: )

Lol. Fair point. Separate problem, though, and one which makes a further case for setting those returns to -inf / 0.

Heard back from an A&H tech. They agree, and will change the default insert returns. Eventually.
