Qu5D network problem

Network problem Qu5D

I am having trouble with Qu MixPad (iPad version) and Qu5D. The mixer is part of a network VLan 10.0.0.xxx its IP is 10.0.0.50, (fixed) subnet 255.255.255.0 gateway 10.0.0.1. When I connect Mixing station over from windows wired connection, it works once connected, but iPad version of MixPad repeatedly drops contact every few seconds. The WiFi shows a constant connection, so it is something to do with MixPad, as far as I can see. (Dante connection is on separate VLan, and NOT internally linked) Firware updated to V1.1.1 today using the MixPad app, it took over 7 minutes to do the update, when I updated it at home, from 1.0 to 1.1 it took just over a minute.

As an owner, or manager, of over a dozen other A&H mixers from CQ to Avantis and AHM, I have not had this much trouble with anything else!

Are you sure the tablet is being assigned an IP address in the same 10.0.0.1/24 subnet as the console? Usually these issues end up being some sort of simple issue with the “network” and not the software.

10.0.0.41
That is the IP address of the tablet, it can see the laptop, and the lighting desk, all on the same VLan
Having had another look when back at the theatre this evening, I am coming to the conclusion it probably is a network issue, as I could not ping the Ubiquity Edge router on 10.0.0.1

I dont know about QU*D but a lot of AH gear gets a little fussy if the gateway isnt valid. Double check that.

If you have fixed the IP address for the mixer desk, have you stopped any DHCP server from also using that address?

If memory serves me correctly, we had a similar issue with our MixPad / SQ desk at one point.

We configured a ‘hole’ in the DHCP range for use by our fixed IP audio visual equipment.

Just something else to check…

That has also occurred to me since posting, I will now not be at the theatre until after the holidays, so will look into it then.
Many thanks

Good idea! Not at theatre now until after Christmas, so will check next time I go!

No problem.

Have a good holiday.
