Question about setting up USB with an SQ5

I use an app called Jamzone for backing tracks and click tracks during live performances. It allows me to route specific audio elements (like instruments and click tracks) to different output channels. I’m trying to figure out how to set up my I/O screen to import the correct audio inputs from the USB B connection on my board and assign them to specific channels.

Here’s what I need to achieve:

  1. Assign the stereo backing track feed to channels 1/2 as a stereo pair.

  2. Assign the click track to channel 3 as a mono input.

I want to be able to control the volume of these feeds from the board and send them to FOH and Aux for IEMs. The problem I’m having is figuring out how to select and assign the USB inputs in the I/O setup to route the audio properly to these channels. The system says it defaults USB audio to channels 47/48, but I also see USB listed at the very bottom of the I/O screen. This is confusing, and I can’t find clear documentation on how to make the routing work correctly.

Even if we ignore the click track issue and just focus on bringing in a stereo feed from Jamzone on an iPad or laptop, I still can’t figure out how to assign the USB input properly to the board channels.

Can you explain the correct process or provide resources that cover this setup in detail? Thanks!

On our SQ desk, all we do is to go to the input patching screen and patch the desired USB-B input channel to the desired input strip.

Again, on the SQ, you can then save the patch setting into a library (for later reloading) should this be desired.

The ‘defaults’ are just that - initial settings defined by A&H.

If you don’t like the A&H default, unpatch the default and repatch it to suite your needs.
