Quick Channel Bass HPF

Why is there automatically a HPF for the bass quick channel? HPF makes no sense for bass. Is there a way to turn it off or do I have to convert to a full channel?

What frequency is it set at?
High passing can actually clean up the mix and make the bass sound better.
Also keep in mind most systems are not truly flat and or get nowhere close to 30hz.

Thanks for responding.

I don’t think the HPF is adjustable on the quick channel. I assumed that it was around 100Hz like it is for vocals on a analog mixer, but perhaps it’s different for the bass channel.

If you want to see what the internal settings for the quick channel are, just configure the quick channel how you want then convert it to a complete channel. The settings in the complete channel will be exactly what’s happening under the hood on the quick channel.

You can do this to check any settings, what the different controls do, what frequencies the mid knob changes as you turn it, etc..etc…

I would disagree with that blanket statement… it really just depends on the situation.

I’m seeing the wisdom of this now. I’m just confused why there’s zero flexibility to turn it on an off without converting to the full channel. Not a big deal.

As someone that helps design speaker cabinets and homebrew amplifiers, HPF is a must for bass guitar and double bass. Much of what comes in as signal is woolly mush that adds nothing to the sound and is likely to cause amps and speakers to overload.

I set HPF as 30-40Hz as most, if not all, the bass we hear is second harmonic upwards. Only blockbuster films need to go down to say 20Hz.
