Rack Rail Screw Size?

Anyone know the size and pitch of the rack rail screws? I guess I tossed mine when I emptied the tube so now I need to make a trip to Home Depot to get 6 more and would prefer to not buy 3 different sizes to try.

I thought I saw it the product description somewhere but I can’t find it again…

Thanks in advance.

10-32

It’s a shame that a simple question sometimes doesn’t have a simple answer! Standards? What Standards?

10-32 threads are historically the original rack screw type.
12-24 is now more common than 10-32 in pre-threaded racks. …
A metric rack uses M6: 6mm-0.1mm
Since the introduction of the square hole rack and Cage Nuts, the exact thread can be selected and changed at will.

So it depends on the particular rack you are using!

not in Europe, here we have standards
the ISO did this… and we care about

and Germans have always standards
DIN, EN, ISO

damn it’s not that simple

Thanks folks. Lowe’s didn’t have a M4x8 but they did have a M4-.70 X 6 and that works fine.

I knew I’d seen that diagram somewhere but couldn’t remember. I didn’t download the getting started guide PDF but I have the full reference guide saved on my iPad and didn’t see it in there.

Thanks so much.

The thing about standards - there are so many to choose from…

Doctor G, your reference is for server farms, not audio! Never seen 12-32 screws in an audio rack. Audio racks use 10-32. You can get them in bags of 100 cheap many places online, I’d never go go a hardware store for that kind of thing! Electronics store if you have one locallly, but you can get them overnight online.
