I would love to have the possibility to load and save shows, scenes and lib from and to a computer.
This feature is already realized within the SQ app and by having this you get a real offline mode.
In the current CQ app all is lost if it cannot be stored directly on the cq (at least at my 20B). Having the offline mode I could prepare the setup of a new show wherever I am just having a computer. That would be great!
Cant we already do this. I back my data from the usb stick to the computer.
With an understanding of the file structures and FAT 32 file system its possible to recreate shows but its not easy given that ideally you’d have to have knowledge of the structure of the files created.
Allen&Heath programmers probably have such info and could implement a friendly offline show building system, but what would be their return on investment, it might delay upgrades by user to mixers further up the chain.
They have to make sufficient profit as a business to survive.
Since I bought my CQ20 last October I’m now already wondering if I can find the funds to go to the SQ5 Rack, so their strategy with CQ line is clearly working.
